About 3 months ago I purchased the One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser by Clarins from none other than my favorite store, Sephora!!!  I was so anxious to use this cleanser because I have been on the hunt for a 2 in 1 cleanser for the past few months to replace my discontinued Time Dimensions Clarifying Facial Exfoliator by Boots. Wow…finally something that is comparable in texture with similar ingredients (in my Charlie Sheen voice…WINNING!!!) LOL

But, before I give you the 411 on the product, you know I have to give you some insight on the brand :-). Clarins, is an innovative brand with plant based products catering to the needs of women throughout their lifetime. The products never stop being enriched with the latest and greatest formulas from scientific research with one goal in mind, to exceed the client’s expectation. With statements like these, I’m all in, make me a believer and exceed my expectations!!!

So, I put the One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser to the test to see if it would do just that and here is what I liked: I love that it is a 2 in 1 cleanser that exfoliates because I can get lazy and forgetful. This cleanser offers me a gentle daily scrub without the harsh exfoliation that some scrubs have. With the amount of travel that I do, I sometimes forget to exfoliate my skin or I just don’t feel like it; so when I cleanse my skin in the morning, I get the best of both worlds!!! The orange extract smells amazing without overpowering my sensitive sense of smell and the packaging makes the product easy to use without wasting it.

Okay, so now you have the likes…let’s talk about the dislikes. I was not moved by the exfoliating beads; I did not feel like the product got rid of the embedded impurities as it states on the website; it did remove the dead skin cells on the surface but nothing major. It says that it will remove makeup but I am not sure that I would use a product with microbeads as a makeup remover as the beads would get in the way of effectively eliminating the makeup (but that’s just my opinion) IJS!!!

My final grade for the One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser is 3.75 out of 5 smooches…MUAH!!! My expectations were not exceeded and the product did not wow me :-(.  Especially when my discontinued Boots 2 in 1 cleanser did a better job at a much cheaper price. However, if you are interested in purchasing this cleanser, you can buy it for $35 at Sephora or clarinsusa.com. Happy Cleansing!!!
