In case you don’t know, the Cover Girl Queen Collection is a line designed for women of color with high-pigmented shades as well as a wide range of foundations for most skin tones. The spokesperson is none other than Hip Hop Artist, Actress and Singer, Queen Latifah. Today is her birthday, Happy Birthday Queen!

So there I was walking through the aisles of Walgreens looking for the perfect pink lipstick, there were so many to choose and so little time!!! What was a girl to do??? I was so pressed for time that I didn’t know where to start until the Covergirl Queen Collection caught my eye with the word “new”.  Ding, ding, ding…I thought… for the complete and total win!!! I stopped dead in my tracks and picked up the Jumbo Gloss Balm in Berry.

At first, I was a little nervous because there were no testers for me to try the product like in the department store or Sephora. I really hate to purchase products, get home, and try it on only then, to not like it at all. That would be an epic fail, as I would have to return the product and that is such a hassle. Besides, who wants to do that??? I just think that every beauty department whether it is prestige or mass, should have testers and Beauty Advisors…but that is just, me!!! LOL

So now that I am off of my rant…sorry!!! I just had to express myself…LOL. Here is what I liked about the Jumbo Gloss Balm: It is moisturizing as it contains Shea and Mango butters and it just feels so great on my lips. There is no stickiness and it did not smear. It offers a nice soft shine almost like a soft sheen and you can get sheer or moderate coverage by applying a little more. This is also a multifunctional balm; you can wear it alone, under a gloss or use it as a lip liner. I loved that it did not have any type of fruity or perfumery smells and the color is long lasting!!!

I know it sounds like I just love this product and there couldn’t possibly be anything to dislike but, there are two things. The first is the twist up applicator. I know it sounds crazy but stay with me… I don’t think the point will stay sharp enough if I chose to line my lips with it, when you line your lips, it is all about precision…right??? And who can be precise with a dull tip??? The second has nothing to do with the product but the label; it is too small. I could not read the number of the color to tell you which one I purchased. I had to take a picture and expand the view in order tor see it (and I know I am my eyesight is not that bad)!!! SMH…beauty brands need to make the names of the colors bigger!!! IJS

My final grade for the Jumbo Gloss Balm by Covergirl Queen Collection is 4.5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH!!! If you are interested in this easy, breezy, Covergirl product, you can purchase it for $6.99 at Walgreens or other mass retailers. Now that is a beauty deal!!!
