A few months ago I was saddened to learn of Meechy Monroe’s cancer diagnosis. Meechy and her sister Vaughn are two naturalista bloggers that have blazed the trail for myself and so many others in the natural hair community. Today’s blog post was supposed to be a personal invite to Saturday’s Chicago Natural Beauty Expo, but after seeing this newly released video with public announcement of Meechy’s recent medical challenges, all I can do is think, “What can I do to help?” We all want her to know that we love and miss her, and will do what we can to support her recovery. On Saturday my team and I will announce a special effort to express our thoughts and prayers for Meechy and her family. Meechy we love you and are praying for your healing and speedy recovery.
