This past Saturday, I was so excited to work with one of my favorite beauty brands for women of color, IMAN Cosmetics. I had the pleasure of being a guest Blogger and Makeup Artist for a small event at Walmart. My first experience with IMAN Cosmetics was many years ago, when I was a Cosmetic Sales Associate at a Carson’s department store. Back then I actually worked for a different makeup brand in the store, but often times, when women of color came to my counter, I ended up steering them over to IMAN. This was because I knew IMAN had the best foundations and color cosmetics. As the years passed, I left the world of retail sales and went on to do many things in the beauty industry, including modeling and working as a Freelance Artist. On one occasion I had the opportunity to be a model on a TV segment with my makeup idol Sam Fine! I interviewed him and he not only spoke very highly of IMAN Cosmetics, but also introduced me to what is now my favorite IMAN product; the After Glow bronzer. It is amazing!!! Needless to say, to finally have the opportunity to work with this brand was really a dream come true. I want to thank all of my social media friends who came out to visit. Working in the makeup aisle really reminded me of my old “Marathon” salon days, Saturdays filled with plenty of girl talk, laughter, beauty secrets and fun. Makeup really does help to bring people together. This Saturday their will be several IMAN events happening in and around the Chicago market.
