Last week I gave you the beauty 411 on the makeover of Target’s Beauty Department. This week, I am going to talk about one of my purchases from my beauty play date.
My first stop was the Boots aisle. Boots Retail is one of the largest health and beauty brands in the UK that’s available in Target. They started out as an apothecary brand years ago and they’ve grown into one of the most trusted brand across the pond. The stores in the UK are a mix between the new and improved Walgreens and Sephora. The Target stores have an aisle of the best selling brands from Boots. They carry skin and cosmetics from No7, Botanics and Expert just to name a few.
No7 is the most popular brand in the US and UK, it’s often compared to department store brands such as Estee Lauder, Clinique and Lancôme. And I can attest to that from a personal and professional side as I worked for Boots a few years ago. But I’m not here to review my professional experience; I’m only going to review the product I purchased 🙂
So, with no further ado, here’s the Glam it, the Slam it and the Final Grade for the Boots No7 Stay Perfect Lip Stain in Ruby.
The Glam: The color is a very pretty red, not too bright and not too dark and I received compliments from the very first day I wore it. It’s multifunctional! It has two sides and that means you can get at least 3 looks from this one product. The stain is buildable, one sweep across your lips can give you a sheer color and more layers, allow for a more intense look.
The Slam: The color doesn’t last very long; I had to reapply after I ate, unlike my favorite lip stain from Josie Marin, which last all day. The product is sold in an open sell environment and it’s not sealed so if you purchase this, you can’t be sure if someone has tampered with it on his or her hand or lips using it as a tester 🙁
The Final Grade: Although I like the color of the No7 Stay Perfect Lip Stain in Ruby, the product has fallen short of staying perfect. My final grade for this product is 3.5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH! When I hear the name lip stain, I think it should last all day…but that’s just me!
