My Summer Lovin’ Facial Cleanser

Today I am going to do something a little different 🙂 I am going to give you the final grade first and then tell you how and why I came up with this rating (warning…spoiler alert). GIGGLES

As you can see in the title, the Checks and Balances Cleanser by Origins is one of my faves so I give this cleanser 5 out of 5 smooches…MUAH!!! Here’s a quick overview of the mission for Origins: they create high-performance natural skincare that is powered by nature and proven by science. I was introduced to this cleanser years ago in my former life as a Beauty Advisor for the brand. It was a time in my life where I needed a new cleanser because I was having some issues, situations and circumstances with my skin…LBVS!!! It was red, dry, itchy and peeling around the mouth. Yes, it was a horrible sight to see!!! It was so bad that I looked like a puppet around my mouth…I am so serious and happy to say there aren’t any pictures to show the nonsense that was going on with my face!!! LOL, IJS.

But let me rewind the story so you can get a full understanding of how this craziness came about. A few months prior to this issue, I had a reaction to the skincare I had been using for years. It was drying me out as well as irritating my skin and then the drama started. So I went to a Dermatologist and he prescribed a cleanser with Benzoyl Peroxide (which dries the skin and it is usually for people with acne) so needless to say, that made it worse…sigh 🙁 So I went to my general practitioner and she suggested I use Dove soap along with a prescribed moisturizer. A little skeptical at this point (as I am sure you can understand why), I gave it a try for a few months and it worked. A few weeks later I started my job with Origins and after my product knowledge training, I decided to take a leap faith and try something new but boy was I scared!!!

To my surprise, it worked!!! The Checks and Balances Cleanser was the answer to my beauty prayers…LOL. It did what it said it would do which is balance my skin…FTW!!! This foamy frothy face wash was AMAZING to my super sensitive skin and a little dab will do you to get the lather going!!! The Broad Leaf Kelp Extract deters excess oil production while the Wheat Protein balances and safeguards the dry areas. The best thing about this cleanser is that I don’t have that tight feeling like my face is about to crack after I wash it and it feels squeaky clean!!! This cleanser is perfect for the summer as it will not dry you out and it will balance the oiliness…YAY!!!

So there you have it…the how, what, when and why Check and Balances Frothy Face Wash by Origins is one of my faves!!! It brought my skin back to life, back to reality (in my Soul II Soul voice).
